Biafra: Kanu insists that he is entitled to $800m

The leader of the banned Indigenous People of Biafra, Nnamdi Kanu, has maintained that he is still entitled to $800m compensation from the Federal Government for allegedly being unlawfully arrested in 2015 and detained.
Kanu made the assertion through his lawyer, Ifeanyi Ejiofor, in a response to the motion filed by the Federal Government requesting the Community Court of the Economic Community of West African States sitting in Abuja to dismiss a fundamental human rights enforcement case filed by Kanu.
Making the claim on behalf of Kanu, Ejiofor noted that the entitlement is irrespective of the Federal High Court in Abuja granting him bail over charges of treasonable felony, for which he is being arraigned alongside others.
