Nigeria get N180M from CAF for World Cup preparation
Ahead of the tournament, the Super Eagles will get N180m ($500,000) from CAF as financial assistance.
The Super Eagles of Nigeria will get N180M ($500,000) from the Confederation of African Football (CAF) to prepare for the 2018 FIFA World Cup.
Nigeria have been drawn in Group D along with Argentina, Croatia and Iceland for the 2018 FIFA World Cup which will hold in Russia.The other African representatives to the 2018 World Cup, Egypt, Senegal, Morocco and Tunisia will also receive the same sum from CAF.
CAF made this decision at their last General Assembly which held in November in Rabat, Morocco.
The assistance package plan was finalised in Russia when CAF met with the federations of the five countries in Russia before the World Cup draw on Friday, December 2.
”In addition, CAF will provide each African representative with “fieldwiz” equipment, a technological device and physical performance measuring tool for outdoor team sports players,” CAF announced on their website.
The N180m from CAF is in addition to the N4.5b ($12.5m) which the NFF will receive from world football governing body FIFA for qualifying for the 2018 World CupAhead of the tournament, the Super Eagles will get N180m ($500,000) from CAF as financial assistance. he NFF will get a N3.6b ($10m) qualification bonus and N900m ($2.5m) for the Super Eagles to prepare for the tournament.
The NFF will be solely in charge of these funds as they have agreed a bonus plan with the Super Eagles players ahead of the 2018 World Cup.
